Focus areas in Germany
In Germany, given the social and professional transformation processes underway, it is necessary to increase participation rates in adult education in order to achieve the overarching goal of an inclusive, socially just and resilient society as defined in the European Agenda for Adult Learning.
Die digitale Transformation und der Einsatz von Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) verändern die Welt der Erwachsenenbildung grundlegend. Um den Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung gerecht zu werden, beschäftigt sich die Europäische Agenda mit verschiedenen Einsatzmöglichkeiten von KI in der Erwachsenenbildung und mit der Weiterbildung von Lehrkräften. Ziel ist es, die Chancen der Digitalisierung zu nutzen und die Teilhabe aller an der digitalen Gesellschaft zu sichern.
Die Erwachsenenbildung muss zunehmend neue, kreative Wege und Lernräume finden, um Menschen zu erreichen und zu motivieren. Innovative Ansprachemethoden, sowohl analog als auch digital, spielen eine Schlüsselrolle, um insbesondere vulnerable Gruppen z.B. mit Grundbildungsbedarf in Bildungsprozesse einzubinden. Neue Lernformate und die Nutzung digitaler Technologien eröffnen neue Perspektiven, um das Lernen für alle zugänglich, attraktiv und effektiv zu gestalten.
In einer zunehmend komplexen und digitalen Welt sind Future Skills – Kompetenzen, die den Umgang mit neuen Technologien und gesellschaftlichen Veränderungen fördern – unerlässlich. Die Förderung der Entwicklung und Vermittlung von Fähigkeiten, die es den Lernenden ermöglichen, aktiv am Berufs- und Gesellschaftsleben teilzunehmen ist essentiell. Dazu gehören digitale Kompetenzen ebenso wie kritisches Denken, Problemlösungsfähigkeiten und Anpassungsfähigkeit.
Der grüne Wandel ist nicht nur eine ökologische Notwendigkeit, sondern auch eine Chance für die Erwachsenenbildung, nachhaltige Entwicklung zu fördern. In einer Zeit des Klimawandels ist es entscheidend, dass sich Einrichtungen der Erwachsenenbildung ganzheitlich nachhaltig aufstellen, daher auch ihre Struktur und Strategie miteinbeziehen. Die Agenda Erwachsenenbildung fokussiert sich auf die praxisnahe Weiterbildung zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit und die Integration von nachhaltigem Denken und Handeln in alle Bereiche der Bildungseinrichtungen.
The Monitoring Committee was established to align the work of the German National Coordination Office for the European Agenda for Adult Learning as closely as possible with current developments at federal and state level and in academia. It serves as an important advisory and coordination body and meets twice a year.
In terms of content, the Monitoring Committee supports the Coordination Office in the forward planning of its activities and strategic goals. The main areas of focus were also determined in consultation with the Monitoring Committee.
The composition of the Monitoring Committee is based on equal representation of representatives from academia (from the fields of adult education and continuing vocational education and training) and political representatives from the federal and state governments.
In addition to the Monitoring Committee, the Advisory Committees for Vocational Training and Adult Education are also used to coordinate the Adult Education Agenda in Germany. To actively involve the relevant state ministries, the KMK's Working Group on Continuing Education is also regularly informed about the work of the Adult Education Agenda.
